This outfit shows up very briefly in the manga and multiple times in the artbooks. This is the princess gown of Sailor Jupiter. Sailor Jupiter is the tom-boyish lightning wielder of the Sailor Scouts. She’s strong self-sufficient and right to the point. She was always my favourite Sailor Scout and as I child I wanted to be her!
This costume was made to be paired with a commissioned Princess Venus gown. When costumes were being discussed I jumped at the chance to make myself a Jupiter gown. Sailor Jupiter had always been my favourite scout and it was a pleasure to get to dress up as her. I am so proud of how this dress turned out! It was made relatively quickly since the Venus gown took so much longer than expected, but still I am pleased with how it turned out! I made half of the costume at home and then finished it after I arrived in British Columbia. I also ended up having to cut the bangs into my hair in my hotel bathroom the morning before the convention. I am happy with how they looked, but hated having to wait for the bangs to grow out afterwards. This was also the very fist time I had worn colour contacts for a costume. One thing I am still amazed by is the fact that I was able to find shoes that matched the dress colour perfectly, especially since I bought them without a swatch of fabric with me.
